In the beginning,

when no stars had shone in the dark sky,

there were the sea,

an island in the middle of it.

There was an egg in the island,

it was gazing to the dark sky.

One day, the egg was cracked,

the sun and the moon had come up to the sky.

The exhibition is the open studio for a single painting. The work is created on two 100-size canvases (162 x 130 cm each) to form one piece.

The main visual of this work is generated from a poem I wrote, processed by AI to create an image. This image exists only in the digital body, but through this exhibition, it will be transformed into an oil painting. The AI-generated image will be replaced by a human-created one. This process is also an exploration of the relationship between poetry and painting for me.

I do not aim to reproduce the AI-generated image. The image created by AI is just one of many materials scattered across the world. Since the AI-generated image lacks physical substance, it has no defined size or texture. What happens when we give it the substance of oil paint and the size of a canvas? This exhibition will explore the relationship between size, texture, weight, space, and the work itself, ultimately creating a single piece from these elements.
